This technology, invented in 1981 by Mr. Fernando Mazariegos from Guatemala, purifies the water in two parts; First, it is a retainer of solids since the pores of the filter unit are so small that they don't let pass larger solids such as bacteria and particles of dust, trash, etc.

On the other hand, the filter unit is impregnated with colloidal silver, which is known for a long time and is considered one of the most effective natural biocides. The bacteria that comes into contact with the particles of silver is neutralized leaving the water safe for consumption.
 

This technology that seeks to purify water in a manner that is economical, ecological, efficient and easy to understand was awarded by the World Bank in 2003 and 2004 the Market Place Award and contributes to the Millennium Goal the UN has to reduce by half the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and to basic sanitation by the year 2015. The World Health Organization recognizes this as one of the most effective filtration methods to treat water contaminated with pathogens harmful to health.
 

Today, with the help of the Organization Potters for Peace and Ron Rivera (RIP), we have this filtering technology in Nicaragua. We have managed to bring these filters to the 17 departments in the country and help thousands of people in improving their health and quality of life.
